Synopsis

Sleep is an absolute necessity in everyone’s everyday lifestyle, but especially for teenagers. Teenagers have been stereotyped by the media as drug smoking, binge drinking sleep-aholics that spend more time in bed more than they are awake.
This documentary is going to push the average teenager to the absolute edge by cancelling out any form of sleep for as long as possible. It will prove that teenagers/young adults do need 7-9 hours of sleep every night. The person in question is Liam Graham, a college dropout who spends most of his life inside his bedroom.
Liam will be put through a series of tasks that shouldn’t trouble him too much. However, as time passes and Liam becomes deprived of sleep, these simple tasks will become harder for Liam to maintain concentration and confidence. These tests will be taken every two hours and will include reaction, mental and physical tests.
He is fully aware of the dangers of this experiment and has received a fully body check-up that has given him the go ahead. Nevertheless, the check-up won’t save him from hallucinations, panic attacks, drastic mood swings and weight loss or even gain.
This documentary is a way of seeing these effects take place, without having to go through them yourself. The documentary will demonstrate the great need for sleep in a very drastic way, and will aim to hopefully encourage people to receive the correct amount of sleep.
The world record for no sleep is 264 hours (eleven days). Can Liam Graham step up to the challenge and take the world record for himself? Or will he flop and turn out to be a complete failure for the rest of his life?
